Need to open Task Manager to switch Tabs in Edge and Firefox

When I want to switch to another tab in MS Edge, I have to open Task Manager to do so. This happens most of the time. This also effects Firefox. Other times it ok, but that does not happen often.

I just can't figure out why this is happening. Probably something stupidly simple that I am overlooking.

    Any ideas?

Most of the time, nothing. Once in a while I don't need to open Task Manager, but that dosen't happen often.

Does it work correctly in Safe mode?
Does it work correctly in another user account?

I don't mess with safe mode. I am the only user on this PC.

    These tests can help diagnosis.

If another user account behaved incorrectly and if it was OK in Safe mode then I would have suggested reinstalling the display driver.
