Spammy-looking domains in default Edge Chromium preferences?

    Hello folks!

I noticed a bunch of spammy-looking domains in Edge Chromium's default preferences under the entity_extraction section. For example, go to edge://prefs-internals in the address bar and search for:

    singaporelawwatch.sg
    singaporelegaladvice.com
    danielfooddiary.com
    ethz.ch
    ... etc ...
Anyone else see these domains in their Edge preferences? What is it about?

    Thanks!

    Edge Chromium 93.0.961.38
    Windows 10 21H1 build 19043.1202

I don't use Edge at all, so what is in my version is what came when it installed. I have Singapore also. It must be some default stuff, so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Thanks for checking! I was starting to get a little worried it may just be me after all !

I wonder what the purpose of the various "entity_exctraction" settings are? FWIW, the domains come out clean at VirusTotal but their Alexa rankings suggest they're not widely used. I assume they're popular in their resepective countries but so are many other sites that are not on the list. There also doesn't seem to be a way to edit this list. Just a little weird.

List JSON data preferences and their status.

I found that all browsers have this, it is to list some default websites. Maybe if you got hacked or something that Edge understands how to avoid that? I am not sure, contacting Edge insider support. will foolllwoup

    Hello Everyone,

The urls in the Edge Pref link are the list of websites that work with edge features like the price comparison, so Edge know how to use it.
