    Outlook.com Error 0x800CCC90

Today I'm suddenly receiving a error "Task '{my account name} - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' when accessing my outlook.com email account via POP using Outlook 2010 (desktop) and the Send/Receive All Folders process. Oddly, I am receiving actual email sent to the outlook.com email address and I can receive and send from it without error when I test the account in the account setup, so ports and credentials are fine. The error is only occurring when all I click Send/Receive All Folders in Outlook 2010. I have several other non-outlook.com email addresses that are connecting without error with the same Send/Receive All Folders process.
    Any thoughts? Thanks.

Great description of a problem I too experience, but unfortunately no replies to your post.

For me, exact same scenario except it's happening in Outlook 2019 Pro and does so also with automatic send/receive.

Ironically, very same email accounts did not do this in Outlook 2010 Pro.

Did you ever find cause and resolution?
