Maybe it's FF's way to enter tunneling for the security. I'll read your other links later.
I viewed the white flash video and that's what I see, but again, only on startup and I haven't tried to force it.
It looks like you found out you could force its appearance by clicking on different tabs quickly, scrolling/clicking, and different points on the FF dsktp, the flash is similar to the one's at 0:18, 0:19, 0:20, 0:23 not the brief flashes like 0:29. It's intense.

I wonder if the forcing action causes FF to think that, that is a nefarious action and it's flashing in defense. On startup it would be intense b/c startup is the initial action to lay the tunnel.

I'll get to the rest of your info at my leisure, if I get any . . . .

p.s. if this flash thing gets involved do you think you or I should start a new thread or is there one already out there that you could point me to?

p.p.s. I made no changes to your chrome folder and I'm liking it more an more, one thing though, I have relearn to get used to the minimalized spacing in all the context menus |

No. In practice, it just happens randomly. I just did multiple clicks to show the flash AND keep the video small.

Setting fission.autostart to False, stops the flashes completely. But after reading the description of what Fission... is, I decided it was probably better to leave fission.autostart set to True.

From the bug reports... it seems to hit different folk in different ways.
See the links under the 1st vid in post #59

Apparently, this is what is happening...

Page loads flickers and shows visible redraws (due to too-early paint unsuppression?)

For ME... it ONLY happens on ElevenForum

It happens every where if you open links in a new tab or window.

    Not to me.
It affects different folks... differently. And it is random as well.

I don't use dark mode/ dark theme and don't get white flashes. I did read that this might help:
