Can't View in Browser with IE from Outlook & other browsers don't work

When using Outlook 2016 a lot of times it does not show my HTML email correctly so I click the "View in Browser" option embedded in Outlook and it opens IE and displays my email is an MHT file in IE. Problem is, IE has become obsolete and automatically switches to Edge which does not show my email correctly and instead just shows a bunch of HTML. I tried using a another browser as my default with MHT files and the same thing happens.

Is there a setting in Edge or another browser that would allow me to view my HTML emails from Outlook 2016 as an MHT file correctly?

    I'm using Windows 10

Does it happen with all such messages or just that one? Since Edge's Save as... on the right-click of a page shows the choice of Single file. MHTML it should be able to open your message if it is not corrupted. As a test I go to my Domain's Webmail or my ISPs Webmail to view the E-Mail. I haven't needed it yet but there is an IE Mode available in Edge, saw a post on this forum mention it.

It happens with all such messages. I can't go back to my ISPs webmail after I downloaded into Outlook because it is no longer there. I will take a look and see if I can find the IE mode… Thanks for the reply!

This is an awkward workaround but it does the job.

    - When you use View in browser, copy the mht's address from Edge's address bar - it is probably somewhere in a … subfolder of a cache folder within
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.Outlook\...\email.mht
    - In Word, use the Open dialog and paste in that address.
Note that opening it this way will override any 'do not download pictures' setting you might have in Outlook so do it offline if you want to avoid pictures loading.

Edge has an IE 11 mode.

3 dots > Reload in Internet Explorer mode.

You can also put an Icon on the toolbar. right click > Show in toolbar.

    dbassman55,

I'm just trying it now starting with the tutorial
Enable or Disable Reload in Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge Chromium - TenForumsTutorials

When IE mode is enabled, the … menu does indeed have a Reload in Internet Explorer Mode entry and it does display the desired page normally [rather than just showing its html code].

That's a lot easier than my suggested workaround.

I don't have the "Reloaded Internet Explorer Mode" when I click the 3 dots. When I used help under Edge I got the following:

It sounds as though you did not work through the TenForumsTutorial. Do that and the option will be available to you [as posted above].
