IE11 is being retired on 15/6/2022 - Help, need some advice

I have Windows 10 and use Office 365 on a Desktop computer. I have heard that Internet Explorer 11 is being retired on 15/6/2022.

I had exported my IE11 favourites to Firefox. Will I still be able to access them via Firefox after 15/6/2022?

Please answer simply and not in computer jargon, as I am an older person who is not a technically minded person.

    Thank you.

As long as you migrate them over. Favorites for I# are kept in the Favorites folder under your user profile in Windows.

A "Favourite" in IE is simply a shortcut link to a web site. Such shortcuts are universally common for any/all brwsers.

And congratulations on choosing Firefox, it's refreshing to read someone who doesn't just automatically go to that G program we've all been brainwashed with. Any number of other browsers you could consider
    - Brave
    -Vivaldi
    - Opera
    - Tor (privacy browser)
    - SRWare Iron

And if you like the look and feel of IE, there's always MyIE (although altho the range and variety of toolbars and settings can be overwhelming ... or simply ignored :)

I have copied them over from IE11 and they are seen in Firefox under Bookmark Menu "From Internet Explorer" now, so I presume they will open if I go into Firefox after June 2022 and look at any of them? Is that confirmed?

    Thank you.

Yes, those imported Bookmarks/Favourites will be stored in Firefox or indeed any Browser you care to choose.

Mine are now in Edge and Chrome.

If you have any doubts then Export your IE11 favourites to an HTML file and store it somewhere.
    In IE11
File > Import and Export > Export to a file > Next tick Favourites > Next > Next > bookmark.htm

You can import this HTML file into any other Web Browser, so giving you a backup file.

You can also simply open that HTML [.htm or .html] file in a browser then click or double-click any entry to open the site, I store it on a USB Thumb drive for portability and not having to Import it when on someone else's computer.

    Yes.

Once you've imported them into Firefox, their origin in IE becomes irrelevant. They are in Firefox now.

Thank you everybody for your help. I feared that my favourites in IE11 would be lost in Firefox and I could never open them again. I have several hundred of them! I always believe in the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and IE11 is set out so well, unlike Edge or even Firefox for that matter. Another saying is "Leave well enough alone" and wish Microsoft would have done this. Whichever part of the world you are in, stay safe.

IE had the benefit of its Favorites being independent url files in a folder structure that could be managed in File explorer.

Whilst Firefox keeps its Favourites [its Bookmarks] inside its own configuration settings, you can bring up a dialog that allows you to re-arrange them [drag them around] as if you were in File explorer. In Firefox, press
    Ctrl-Shift-O
    and you'll see.
