allows you to re-arrange them [drag them around] as if you were in File explorer.
You can do that with Edge Favourites, and Chrome Bookmarks.

    Helmut,

Since you use Chrome, would you like to have a look at
This is how to create a Firefox or Edge bookmark to a local file - TenForums
and find out if Chrome follows one of the two patterns explained there.
    - Of particular interest will be whether it accepts normal Windows file path backslashes or not [in other words, whether or not the file path element of the entry needs forward slashes instead].

    All the best,
    Denis

Thank you everybody for your help. I feared that my favourites in IE11 would be lost in Firefox and I could never open them again. I have several hundred of them! I always believe in the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and IE11 is set out so well, unlike Edge or even Firefox for that matter. Another saying is "Leave well enough alone" and wish Microsoft would have done this. Whichever part of the world you are in, stay safe.
Thing is if you say 'leave well alone' then we will never have any innovation or advancement and we might as well just turn off all the lights and go back to living in caves. IE11 is very old software and increasingly unsafe to use on the modern web, if MS didn't innovate and advance you'd be the first to blame them for all the issues using such an outdated browser brings.
