    Uninstalling Edge?

I want to try using Firefox as my default browser and what would happen if I uninstall Edge Chromium?

Another question would be, If I decided to not use Firefox anymore, is there a way to install Edge again or should Windows reinstall it automatically as soon as Firefox is uninstalled?

You can run FF as your default browser, and just not use EDGE.
Uninstalling EDGE will break Windows Updates.

Here's a topic where we've posted all the little tweaks we've found for Firefox.

    Firefox... taming the beast !

In about:config make sure to set this to False...

    browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser

This will allow you to UNcheck this box...

Nothing special will happen. You can have multiple browsers installed too, if you want.

Yes, you can reinstall Edge manually. And Windows Update will probably reinstall it automatically at some point, whether you want it or not.

That's not true. Or, to be exact, that has only happened once so far, and only if you left an empty Edge folder behind after uninstalling it. We don't know how things will go in the future, it's all speculation. But Windows Updates are always a gamble and you should be prepared for things breaking anyway.

Well... have fun messing with it then.
About 6 months ago a whole bunh of forum regulars tried removing EDGE... you can do it, but when you try to check for Windows Updates... you'll get an error.

But don't let me stop you from trying.

Here, have a read... I've been Microsoft Edged. Grrrr

I’ll keep Edge just in case I need to use it especially if FF is unable to load or is not completely compatible with some webpages.

I’ll do a test on my other laptop just out of curiosity on would happen if Edge is uninstalled.

I used to remove Edge completely on earlier Windows 10 builds but currently keep it installed. It's possible to prevent it from updating if you don't use it.

I actually now use it sometimes so I have not disabled it.

I removed it late last year on a couple of PCs and have had zero issues with Windows Updates (besides that one time, related to the leftover empty folder, as I said).
So... I guess I've had some fun messing with it, but mostly it's been just boring.

With that said, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I don't recommend it to OP.

I think with EIS HIPS I can kill Edge Chromium completely, I have only to contact ESET Latam Support to know how to...
I hate Edge It only works to download FF
