    Preventing Edge auto-launch

Edge interrupts my video watching, by auto-launching and telling me that the internet is not connected. I've tried to prevent that by uninstalling it from Control Panel - which does not give that option, but only offers CHANGE. I have uninstalled it with Revo Uninstaller and deleted all references to it from the file system and the registry, but it still launches from SEARCH/CORTANA - and so would probably still cause interruptions. The advice from Microsoft Chat could not be applied. Does anyone know of an effective eradication strategy for Edge ? O/S is x64Win10ProV20H2.

Hi. Have you tried disabling Edge from the "startup" tab of task manager ?
I have it disabled and works OK.

It is not in Task Manager's StartUps to be disabled.

    Try this :
    1) Download "Autoruns" and run it
    2) Search for "Edge"
    3) Disable (or delete if not apply) all entries with "Edge"

Paul Black - those two URLs suggest paths that offer 'uninstall' which is greyed out; and Terminate - which doesn't.

Bug Locker - There is no Edge entry in Task Manager's startups - so disabling is NOT an option.

Autoruns seems to have 'done it'. Thank you very much.
