MHT file now displays text instead of web page

I made a change to the file association for MHT from Edge to Firefox. That didn't work, so I reset the association back to EDGE, and then I rebooted my system.

Even so, when I tried to open a Google page that was MHT coded, here is what EDGE displayed. How do I fix this issue?

Did you try the page in Internet Explorer? That's the only browser that always worked for me and that format. Might have to put iexplore.exe in the Run box.

    Yup. That worked.

Kind of surprising that Google still wants to use iexplore.com instead of their own browser format or EDGE.

Microsoft still has things that open with Internet Explorer, some of the links in their own pages haven't been ported to Edge yet. But then the name change in 10 from Windows Explorer to File Explorer in several areas haven't all been changed yet.

Nobody else was interested in the .mht file format so they never bothered adding in handling for it. Even MS gave up on it - Edge can open them imperfectly on my computer.
