    Change the DuckDuckGo page?

I like using DuckDuckGo, but their webpage is loaded with... junk.

Does anyone know of a way to remove all that stuff that ISN'T in the BLUE box?

I don't use extensions. IMO, they just mess up browsers. Not to mention, every other time there's a browser upgrade, they break anyway.

Back in the day, I used the original NoScript, and it worked like a charm. I didn't even have to think about it.
Then along cam a FF upgrade and NoScript was crushed.

Since then, I have tried many NoScripts and YesScripts, but all were pale imitations of the original.
My extension innocence was forever destroyed.

Add it as a search engine possibly.

Also go through settings (all of them)

    DuckDuckGo Settings

    Consider bookmarking and using
    Code:
    start.duckduckgo.com
    DuckDuckGo — Privacy, simplified.

    Personally I switched to Qwant.

Try changing default search engine to DuckDuckGo.

Already tried that, and went through all the settings.

I remember other pages that you could "clean up" in their settings. Doesn't seem to be the case with DuckDuckGo.

This isn't mission critical or anything. I just wondered if I had missed something.

Why are you using the DDGo web page.

Change your browser(s) search engine to DDGo (and delete all the other search engine options)
Make sure your browser setting(s) enable searching from the address bar
Make sure browser settings prevent changes
    Install DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extension/addon
Set your homepage to something else

(From your original post I guess you're using FFox. Let's know if you want more detailed steps for the above)

I don't see what you are seeing. Try.

    Code:
    https://start.duckduckgo.com/?kd=-1&k1=-1
Maybe you'd like Qwant. Or maybe not. I prefer it and rarely use DuckDuckGo.

    Code:
    https://www.qwant.com/?theme=0&hc=0&s=0&vt=0&b=0&l=en&locale=en_GB

Well I was seeing what's in the pic in post #1, but I just looked again, and all that junk is gone.

But now it doesn't. All I see now is the search box and the Duck icon. They must have heard me complaining...

It might come back if you clear cookies as it stores settings in a cookie.

When I made this topic the settings were just a thin strip down the right side...now they're full page, and they have actual settings.

I moved Duck to the cookies to keep, now I'm gonna run CCleaner and see what happens.

Weird. Now the DuckDuckGo page is fine. Don't ask me... I've been opening DuckDuckGo for ages...same junk all over the page, and same teeny settings strip.

    Now... it looks OK.

I wonder if they have some kind of counter. After so many visits, they remove all the junk and give settings that actually do something.

I mean all I did since I made this topic was watch the movie K-9 and make a cheese steak hoagie. LOL
