    Thanks.
However, I did all that, but still have double spaced menus - help!!!!

Make sure you are on FF v91.0

    Chrome.7z <---------------------- v4.0.0
Close Firefox and put this Chrome folder (unzipped ofc), in...
    C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default-release

    Make these about:config edits...

toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets = True <--- Tells Firefox to read the Chrome folder.
svg.context-properties.content.enabled = False <---- (try True and False) (doesn't matter which on my FF)

    Firefox... taming the beast !-image1.png

    Then restart Firefox.

Don't ask me. I just, as you can see, did a search for browser.proton
I don't see any difference whether I set browser.proton lines to true or false. I just hope there is a way to get rid of the extended spacing and black background in bookmarks, but don't see anything in about:config that looks promising.

Did all that, and all changes take effect except the double spacing. WTF

Do you have some FF extensions, maybe??
Something that may be inadvertently affecting this.

Maybe try running FF in Safe Mode?

    /edit

You have to use the whole Chrome folder. You can't just use the userChrome.css file this time.

    From Ari on GitHub...
Due to major changes most of the configuration in userChrome.css and userContent.css has to be redone with v4.0.0 files.

Thanks for your help. But I don't have a profile folder ending in .default-release. I do have .Default User and another with just .default. There's no change in bookmarks spacing when I put the Chrome folder in either and make sure all the about:config settings are correct.

I created a brand new profile, and just added the folder, as well as changing the parameters as shown.
    Still get the double spacing!
Only thing I can think off is that my profiles are not in the default location, they are in D:\profile name

So I added a new profile as 'default-release', parameters as shown, still double spacing.

That could have something to do with it.
When you do a clean install of Firefox, you will have a default-release and another default folder.

The default-release folder is the one with the meat in it.
In fact, I always delete the other folder.
