The new Firefox... "works". But, in my opinion at least, it works like trying to drive a nail with the claw side of a hammer.
Personally, I just don't see the efficacy of most of the changes being made to Firefox over time.

For example, removing Compact Mode from the Density options, or forcing the double spaced bookmarks lists.
I see no point to these changes. If they were still offered as "options", that would be fine.

It seems obvious that a lot of these changes are geared toward smart phone users, which is fine. But make them options.
There's no reason I should be penalized for using a 30" monitor.

Here is my initial bookmark's drop down. On "new and improved" double spacing, I can only see down to the RED dot, on my screen, without needing to scroll. Prior to "Proton" I could see this whole list.
I paid extra for a large screen, so I wouldn't have to scroll all the time.

It not that the new Firefox doesn't work... it's just that it no longer works as well as it used to work, on my machine. And this is just two of Proton's "improvements".
Further, it's not an option. It was decided FOR me.

The compact density option is probably never used on Firefox on smart phones.
Likewise the bookmark double spacing is probably desired when running Firefox on a smart phone.
However, they should still be.... options, rather than something pre-decided by Mozilla.

So, I decided to provide those options, for those that desire them.
Well, provide a link to those options.

What a FUBAR 89 has been for me, it changed everything and put my settings in options back to their defaults so, If anyone is new to these major changes go back to make sure the options are where you want them. 89 has 'em under tools >settings.

At first I thought I lost my log-in's and I know it wiped my home page, but my log-in's are okay and I had to reset my home page. I'm kinda where I want to be but it was getting late last night so I'm going to tackle tabs on bottom today.
