Not this time , after restoring , Edge started again ( ! ) with its own "new" tabpage .
So still not possible to set your own start-page ...........
Hi. I came here looking for the solution for this issue (well described by OP). My Settings are set as they supposed to. Annoying.

Will stay at the Edge 90 , and NOT update it , untill its been fixed by "the clever MS-boys" ..........
