Can only acess certain websites, not too many, most I can't access

I think that the title above says it all. It's odd that I received MS updates, and shortly thereafter I was unable to access many websites that I had accessed before.

    Have you tried
    - changing your DNS?
    - using a different browser?

    Thanks.

I've tried different browsers. Firefox, Bing, Edge, etc. When I go to websites I cannot get on to, I get the following page and a description of the page is here, this is what it says:

    "The connection has timed out

The server at Paul Craig Roberts - Official Homepage is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

    Thank you for your reply.

Again: have you tried changing your DNS?
DNSjumper (free) is very handy- it shows the time to access the DNS, and you can pick the fastest.

Again: build number? The forum prompted you so we don't have to keep asking. Updates? Which?

Have you checked you don't have a proxy server configured?
