    Gmail & 2 Pages

What on earth is going on? Firstly, the left panel reduced itself to symbols only - now gmail is opening 2 pages, one behind the other????

status bar goes along the bottom of the screen, but remainder stays the same, reduced panel. What I have fixed is the 2 page overlay, it was web panel. How it decided to change is unknown as I do not touch the settings. The left hand panel is just showing symbols instead of labels in full. Again, nothing I have touched. It does open on 'hover' but I use it a lot and used it in full.

I don't remember seeing labels. If you toggle the slider (bottom left) then click a panel icon it should display contents.

EDIT: Do you mean Vivaldi Panels or Gmail?

Click the hamburger icon to the left of the GMail icon at the top of the page to change from compact view (no labels) to labels. Go to Settings (Gear icon) at the top of the page, and click See All Settings, then make sure that Density is set to Default, Inbox type is set to Default, and Reading Pane is set to Default. Then close GMail down and re-open it. That should do it.

Thanks Wise, dont know why it changed, but clicking on the burger solved it. Its not the first time software on this has changed something. I never used settings in Gmail, always been default as far as I know.

Sorry late Cal, it only did it in Gmail. I tried several pages via vivaldi and nothing was wrong.

strange. Solved the initial problems, now this has come up after reboot and reopened gmail

The thing is that I don't really use Gmail via browser. Instead I import it to another provider.

    Maybe something in settings?

I don't use GMail in my browser either. I'm quite satisfied with the dinky little (featureless) Win10 Mail app, so I read and send (and store sometimes) all of my GMail through that.

Re: the "is:" things: you appear to have hit Search at some point, and if you click the down arrow beside Search (inside the Search panel you get when you click the arrow in the Search Mail banner at the top) you'll see things that are clickable to limit searches. If you set up a filter in there, your Inbox messages and other categories like Sent will show messages as "iscategory)".

Not sure this helps at all, if you're still seeking the reason behind these apparently un-set settings.

Select the gear, then See all settings, and look along the top (just under the Big word Settings) to the right fior Filters and blocked senders. In that category, use Delete for everything you see. Should clear things. Maybe.

    That emoji was intended.
