Google Chrome NOT Really Default Browser.

I have Google Chrome set as my Default Browser.

However, if I goto Control Panel => Security and Maintenance => Change Security and Maintenance Settings, and click the How does Security and Maintenance check for problems? link, Microsoft Edge opens.



Has it got ANYTHING to do with Cortana which I have Disabled?

No. It's to do with protocols. I use Edge deflector and that link opens in my default browser. (Firefox)

I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm still using version 1.1.3.0

Also if it is somehow related to Cortana then I have never enabled it.

This morning I thought I would have another go. I uninstalled EdgeDeflector and then reinstalled it. I set it as the Default and tried again, and believe it or NOT, it WORKED!

It might just have been a dodgy download yesterday, but OK today.

You have got to love computers.
