Empty Edge icon in the Start Menu

    Good morning.
Since I updated to the latest Build 928 I disappeared the I Edge icon, I tried to restore the link to the Start menu even if you consider the "Add to Start" operation I get the same problem.
I restored the image of the Build .867 Everything ok, when I upgrade to the Build 928 the Edge icon becomes empty.
    Some idea?
    Thank you

Is the icon for the new Edge or the old/original Edge?
I believe a recent update removed the original Edge browser so the missing icon may be connected to that.

Does the shortcut work if you click on it?

It's the new Edge Chromium, if I click on the icon it works.
As I have already written, I also tried to restore the link in the Start menu but the icon is always empty.

When you delete the icon do you restart the PC? It shouldn’t be needed but worth trying.
Have you checked for Edge updates?
Go here: C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe & see if you can pin the Edge.exe to the start. If the icon is still missing then repair Edge.
If that doesn’t work then run sfc & DISM:
Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:
    SFC /SCANNOW
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I also have the correction of online system files.
    "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth".

I would check for any updates for Edge & for Windows.

I noted the problem with the update from Build 867 to 928.

This might be another in the list of bugs for that update. I would report it to Microsoft via the feedback app.
Have you ensured Edge is up to date as well?

My Edge tile still has its icon after the .928 update. In the past I've occasionally had blank tiles, resizing them to a small tile then back again can restore a missing icon.

If that doesn't help, try rebuilding the icon cache.
