    @W10 Tweaker

Thanks for the help I have done the clean boot on the Dell. I have tried edge to see if there is an issue. I tried the HP earlier with Chrome. But tried Chrome again on the HP and it freezes. This sounds crazy and it's driving me crazy. Maybe I should just use edge. It really depends on how long I let it sit. Sometimes its froze and takes a few seconds to unfreeze. But if I let it sit longer than 5 or ten minutes it seems to be worse. I know I said the HP chrome did not freeze but the last time I tried left it about an hour and chrome froze I had to close and reopen. I have worked with Computers for years and this has me stumped that is why I turned to help forum. I just don't know what else to do other than just use Chrome.

    You're most welcome.

I know these things can be challenging, if they were that easy to fix, anyone could do it and great sites like Ten Forums wouldn't exist.

If you would like to continue troubleshooting, I'd suggest you choose a device and ignore the other till you learn more.

Have you tried the Clean Boot yet?

No worries, the ending [/QUOTE was missing the closing square bracket symbol. ]

We should focus on the Dell PC and save the HP for later.

So, has the boot time become noticeably faster after the Clean Boot test and has the Chrome lockup behavior changed in any way?

In post #9, I added 3 additional questions below your answers preceded by a *. Do you have answers for those questions?

Please post a screenshot of your task manager startup tab with columns expanded so all is visible and sorted by the Status column, enabled at the top.

I have decided to use edge for now and I may come back with this issue. After doing the clean boot I tried reversing and must have checked too many items. I had some annoying weather card in system tray. So I ran a system restore to reverse. Luckily it reversed in the past I have had system restore to fail. I am going to see maybe chrome will release another update. Thanks

Well, best of luck using Edge.

You still have not indicated if the Chrome lockup continued or changed after a Clean boot.

Could you please provide an update? TIA

I did try it with a clean boot I cannot remember if I had the issue or not. I am gonna try it again today after I make a image backup with Acronis True Image so I can restore it back. I will not restore until you say to restore. I just trust Acronis more than System Restore.

Clean Boot tests are often successful in pointing in the direction of a solution with faults like this.
When finished, you can reset or restore your previous settings without using restore points or an image backup.

Before disabling non-Microsoft apps, either record on paper or expand the window and save multiple screen captures to record the present state. Screen captures are always my preferred method.

That said, I would still encourage you to use both restore points and backup images regularly and certainly before any major changes/upgrades or modifications.

I will go ahead and answer the 3 questions.

*You have referenced this 3 minute period, do you have a screensaver or video display timeout configured for 3 minutes? I trust that the monitor going off is expected and the result of configuration settings, correct?
No screensaver just the monitor goes off.
*You had indicated the Chrome fault started about 3 weeks ago, I'm trusting the above answer is suggesting the fault was happening 3 weeks with the Dell drivers and continues after updating the drivers using the update tool this week, correct?
    Yes that is correct.
*When approximately did you start using Windows 10 on the Dell?
Windows 10 1903 was preinstalled when I purchased in late 2019 and I updated when a new release came out. I have reinstalled before for unrelated reasons. I would run factory restore and then update to latest.

Do you want a screenshot of task manager before clean boot?

I have tested with a clean boot and still have the issue. And here is a screenshot of my task manager.

Thanks for the update and answering the remaining questions. Could you please post a screenshot of your Power Options?

Is the Task Manager startup tab pic you posted, the before or after the Clean Boot?
If that's after, you missed a couple of steps in the tutorial.

As previously mentioned in post #13, please click & drag on the columns such that we can read all of the content.
Also, please click on the status column to sort with enabled at the top. There should be very few, if any, showing as enabled.
This is the whole point of a Clean Boot. Don't worry, we can adjust settings after the test.

I truly would like to see the startup tab with almost everything disabled.

Please review steps 3 & 5 below. If the Task Manager startup tab pic is from before the Clean Boot, please repeat the test and post the after results as listed above. Thanks.

OK For now here is the power options. On the task manager I will not be able to get everything. Everything will not fit in the screenshot.
I am getting a little confused on this. Not sure if it's against the rules here but is there a way for you to remote connect? Maybe team viewer I take all responsibility if something goes wrong on my end.

I used to be good at this but it seems I am missing some things. And the task manager I posted was after.
