I used to be good at this but it seems I am missing some things. And the task manager I posted was after.

Thanks for the faith and extending your trust to me but I would be much more comfortable if we just proceed online with smaller and more detailed tasks.

We will get through this, just try to focus on the smaller and more immediate tasks rather than the whole deficiency itself.



With the Task Manager, click on the top bar and move the window close to the top of the display, not the very top or you'll maximize the window to fill the entire screen.

Next, grab the bottom of the Task Manager window and pull down, close to the bottom of the display.

Now click & hold on the column where I've indicated with red and drag to widen the column such that all the text is visible.

You may also click, hold and drag on the right outside edge of the window to reduce the overall size, provided we can still read the text.

Don't forget to click on the top of the Status column to sort to enabled to be displayed on the top.

Maybe this is right I was confused what exactly was needed. I was taking a screenshot of the processes and that is why all would not fit. Because processes seem to be starting and stopping it was hard to get.

So, I'm trusting that the Task Manager startup tab showing everything as disabled, is following a Clean Boot test where you now have all non-microsoft apps disabled, correct?

Now for the important question. Has that changed anything about the Chrome lockup condition?
Does it happen more often or less often?
Does it still happen when the display returns from black or wherever?
When watching YouTube, does the player resort to all black as it has before?


For your Power Plan screenshot, click on Change plan settings, adjacent to the selected plan. I want to see the 'turn off display' & 'sleep' settings.





I'm hoping the display will look something like this but without the battery, even though your PC is a Desktop.
Otherwise, there's another place to see it. One step at a time.

At least we now know that the grief is likely not related to a third party app or a device driver. I must apologize, I should have spent more time searching instead of using the standard routine tests.

I've discovered that the Chrome lockup/YouTube strangeness fault is often directly related to GPU hardware acceleration.

As a test, try disabling hardware acceleration and see if that ends the Chrome lockup and YouTube anomaly.

I've found one potential solution but still searching.

I found a method to disable hardware acceleration in Chrome while leaving the GPU setting on. Then you're set for games. I'm still searching.
