Firefox mostly generi bookmark favicons

I cant remember when it happened, but about 90% of my bookmark favicons have turned generic. What do I do?

Clearing the cache wipes out the favicons? Why would they design it like that?

I'm giving Cache Favicons for Bookmarks, by jscher2000, a try. He's one of the major contributors at Mozilla support. I already use his 'Switch To Last Accessed Tab" addon.
