    Remove "Edge" remains

Hello,Recently installed update KB5001330.When finished, I saw a new uninvited guest - "Edge" browser, which I never used. Could not uninstall it from the "Settings"...Apps", so managed to uninstall it with "CCleaner".The only thing which bothers the eye is in the system menu = "Microsoft Edge". Right-click on does not give an option to remove it, its just an empty blue square icon. How can I remove it ?Answers will be appreciated.ThanksMotimWindows 10 pro x 64, winver 19041.928

The 'new' Edge Chromium is delivered with the O/S. I would expect even if you remove it that it will be reinstated on any next upgrade. Plus it's the default for certain things you might click.

I would rather ignore such items than fight against them.

Edge Deflector is said to be still functional.

    the system menu
    - do you mean the Start Menu?

I can't even see it there... screenshot?

You shouldn't actually remove the "remains" but you can check in these locations for the START Menu entry...

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Completely removing the actual leftover files from the OLD Edge, will break Windows Update.
But you should be able to deal with the Start Menu icon.

Personally I would not attempt this- there are plenty of comments on the net saying 'don't' and even one apparently from someone from MS:

Good luck. (And I don't have Edge on my Start Menu for some reason!)

App shortcuts aren't there. They are placed in the Start Menu by the O/S.

Perhaps if you were to have WindowsApps thoroughly enough, that make make it go away.

But please, if you break the O/S doing this sort of thing, please don't ask for help fixing it. Thanks.

...and the location of the remaining legacy Edge file...

    C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

But as I mentioned above, every time someone tries to remove these files... Windows Update breaks.
I don't see any START Menu icons in there either.

You do not see one in the above location?
