    Nothing, other than the number of letters typed, and the historical presence of 'live' branding.

    Just a note, Hotmail.com was intended to merge into Outlook.com, took awhile and finally did then both have merged into Outlook – free personal email and calendar from Microsoft. I have accounts in both that are still valid, just get redirected.
