Need workaround for another Firefox improvement.

It seems that the folks at Mozilla have decided to incorporate another "improvement" in Firefox.

Now... when I right click an image I no longer have the "View image information" option.
This is happening on all websites, even image hosting sites.

    It started somewhere around 86.0.x

Is there a work around to get this option back, on my right click menu in Firefox?

No, I don't think so, Ghot seems correct in saying that it has been removed. 'View image info' is missing on all my machines that have FF 86 or 87. But checking back and running previous Macrium images of those same machines, they all had it in FF 85.0.1.

What version of FF do you have?

But we shouldn't need an addon the functionality to view the image info is still built in to FF, and up to version 85 was available at a right-click.

It's still available without an addon, but now takes a lot more clicks to get to it. The right-click context menu item has been removed that used to give a quick and easy shortcut to the info, that all. The info is still there but now you have to scroll around a lot to get to the same place.

@Ghot, Right-click somewhere away from the image, then select 'View page info'. On the media tab you can find the image and view the same info as you saw before with 'View image info'.

I see that. I was hoping for maybe an about:config edit that would just put it back the way it was.

And yeah... I agree, we shouldn't need an extension to do this.

I can choose: Copy Image, and paste it in image editor, then save as .png... but for a lot of forums, I could just right click, choose: view image info, copy the link, then add image tags to post a pic.

I see a trend here. Pretty soon I'll need to break out my sketch book to post a pic in a forum.

You, and a lot of others were so upset about this that a bug report was raised......

1700239 - "View Image Info" is no longer present in contextual menus

That report was closed, and a new one opened to look at restoring it.....

    Bug 1702013 - Opened 4 days ago - Updated 8 hours ago
1702013 - Re-introduce "view image info" in the context menu behind a hidden (about:config) pref and enable that pref by default in devedition

Yeah... those links look like a whole bunch of Mozilla not listening.
Or having made the decision to cater to mobile users, first and foremost.

C'mon @Edwin... I know you can see the "girl in the red dress", in all those about:config lines.
Don't lose any sleep over it. It may not BE in about:config, yet or ever. IF you happen to see it, let me know.

For out of towners... "girl in the red dress" is from a line in the movie: Matrix

Character in the movie points to a spot on the screen of Matrix code, and says: "See... there's the girl in the red dress".

Only because your screenshot shows have disable updates and are still on 86. Try 87 in which it has been removed
