I recently bought a Fusion 5 tablet with Windows 10S operating system. I find I cannot add ymail and gmail email accounts to the native email client: it just hangs saying "Creating account" and nothing happens. Anyone got any ideas, please? Thanks.
Yahoo & Gmail usually require an app specific password due to their 2-step authentication. Have you created an app specific password & entered this into the password box?
Thanks for your reply, Bastet. I don't have two-step verification activated on Yahoo or Gmail and have used their normal passwords. I had no trouble setting up email accounts on my Windows 10 laptop
Then you may have to enable this on those accounts.
If you’re allowing the Mail app to automatically create the account then try doing this manually by choosing ‘Other’.
Do you run any third party antivirus software &/or VPN? If yes then try disabling it.
Oh dear, it's getting a bit too involved for my old brain now, but thanks again for taking the trouble to reply. I'll use web mail.
It’s easy once you’ve created the password but setting up 2-step authentication requires either a mobile phone which can receive texts or has an authenticator app installed or a second email address added to the account as a backup/recovery option.
It may be easier for you to either use webmail or choose another mail app which is more secure.
