I was able to accomplish the task with Windows Blinds!
I enabled this feature, then turned it off...
... now the taskbar shows on mouse hover without having the FF Title Bar!
Only thing is..., I have no idea HOW it was accomplished!!!
never heard about windows blinds before. will play around with it now. thanks.
now i did play around with windowblinds some. but the problem for me vanished by selecting/unselecting the title bar in firefox "customize" settings that @Edwin kindly pointed out... hope it'll stick, but in any case right now i'm good.
unrelated to that problem - firefox crashes quite often, typically overnight when the computer is left on... old versions did not. anybody else see the same problem?
