    Offloading emails from Outlook

I am getting a lot of emails that I would like to save to an external drive. I looked up how to do it and it says go to the "file" menu and ....I do not see a file menu in outlook. Can someone guide me to that. Thanks.

Have you tried pressing ALT on your keyboard? followed by F key?

This is equivalent to "File" menu.

I had to do that and used this method -

    - download and install eMClient (freeware)
    - DO NOT SET UP or ADD an account
    - locate and make a copy of the Outlook .pst file
    - open that .pst file copy in eMClient and exported all the mails as .eml files.

(Note : used this message because I found Outlook a bit flaky for some emails)

    Just tested:
"File" menu is there, after you click on "File" next "Open & Export" and there you'll see "Import & Export" etc... (*.pst)
ALT + F works as well.

You won't see a classic menu like in other programs if that's what confuses you.

That's sure what confuses me. I'll try again. Thanks. I did alt plus F and a little menu comes up on the right side of the screen. No "file" - I will try to take a pict of it to show you. So frustrating.

Here is what I see after Alt F

This menu from screenshot is the actual "File" menu, you do not look for yet another "File" menu.

However I'm not sure if I can help because it looks like you're working with outlook in your web browser and not in MS office, that menu is your web browser menu not office menu.

OK - thank you for that clarification. I don't have Office -too much $$. I also have email on my system with .msn in the address. I guess that's probably the same issue. Thanks so much for your patience. Do appreciate.

You'll need some email client to download your mail from outlook either with POP or IMAP.
outlook supports both protocols, surely somebody can recommend some email client capable to export mail.
@idgat gave you one solution, another option is thunderbird:
