New "Search Tabs" icon on Google Chrome?

Today I have a New "Search Tabs" icon (hover over), on my Google Chrome Tab Bar?- I clicked on it, and it just Minimized my browser? There is nothing new in Extensions.
My AV did a clean scan, and their Forum was no help?
    Google Search found nothing?
The icon is the little black circle, with a white down triangle-

It's a slow rollout from Google. Open some tabs, and click it again. You be able to scroll your tabs from it. i just got it this morning myself.

I did another Google search, and this is an experimental feature-

to Disable it, and remove icon- copy this to search bar, and Press Enter, click down arrow on box/Disable/Press Relaunch icon...

    chrome://flags/#enable-tab-search

    Open/close browser twice/done

Was also puzzled hence ending up on this forum! I have played with it and it appears pointless! My assumption was that it allows you to search within the tabs that you have open. I suppose that could be useful.

However, it doesn't do that; all that it does is allow you to search in the names of the tabs, which you can see anyway as they are open!

Unless I am missing something here then this is completely useless!

Handy when you have 683 tabs open at the same time!

Tab search is a useful feature when you, like me, have many tabs in many windows, and you want to open a particular one. I have long used the tab search extension for this.

The latest update of Chrome for me includes this feature by default. So, having it built in to Chrome is useful, but unfortunately they have put it on the tab bar, and it takes up a lot of valuable real estate there. I would prefer if it were on the same bar as the url entry.

Anyone have any idea if that icon can be relocated? I thought not. So, in the meantime, I will stick with the extension and disable the feature.

Not seeing it, but have been using a browser called vivaldi, s...s all over chrome, takes a bit to get used to , but its very nice indeed, and once you know how and get used to its workings, its very user friendly
