How to update Edge manually? (with blocked Windows update)

I use Sledgehammer and Edge doesn't update automatically. As its update service is not running, as result of automatic Windows updates being blocked. And I don't want even to allow them, even once, so Windows doesn't install crappy drivers for my devices! I update manually!

There is also another thing: I can update Edge manually, by starting edge and click on update. But I want to deny Edge permissions so it can't start on my PC. It may start automatically after and update anyways. But I want prevent it from running randomly. So if its permissions are denied, I cannot open Edge and update manually. So how do I update Edge then? Changing permissions each time is too annoying! Even with like bat file, you have to click that icon each time and then after update another to disable it again...

I don't know if Edge starts randomly. I Am currently logging process startup on my PC will see. So maybe there is no need to block Edge... Problem is maybe it could run under other process, in which case it would be hard to spot!

Edge is updated normally by its service/process. Maybe if I enable Windows Update Service temporarily, and run edge update service: it would update.

And then I have to check Edge version in power using:

I guess I will have to find out, if temporarily enabling Windows Update Service wouldn't update all my drivers. Problem is I Am afraid, it won't update 1 time anything. And then maybe there will be scheduled task, or something and it will update some drivers - I don't even know about!

I don't want to even enable Windows Update Service ever!

Maybe I leave edge unblocked and will update Edge from inside of Edge manually... Will see yet, if it is starting randomly...

To add: Sledgehammer has to enable Windows Update Service to use WuMgr for manual update. I don't know, if this is same. There are many Windows Update services. I don't want to risk it, that it would update something automatically!

Sorry, you're correct that Edge isn't in the Store, being treated as part of the O/S in a way. I was trying to illustrate the need to enable updates you need to change Sledgehammer settings.

I don't understand why you are denying yourself this way of updating it.

Oh wait. I don't know how often this is updated: I have 89.0.774.48
And in this catalogue is last 83 from 7/14/2020 !!!

It never updates anything automatically. If you ever want to update you run a manual check and install whatever updates you want to install (after researching those updates first) or just run Sledgehammer to fully disable all updates then forget it. Windows will not update - ever.

Ok good. Question is, if Edge update service would automatically update Edge then? If I enabled Windows Update service temporarily in Sledgehammer. As that catalogue site is outdated, I have 89 and there is 83 from 2020 as newest version! And from Dalchima link, last stable with security updates is 89. So that site is clearly outdated.
