Do this...

Open regedit and go to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

If you don't have such a key, then just create it.

On the right side, create a new 32-bit DWORD value named ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate. Set its value data to 1.

I would then reboot. Not all registry edits require a reboot, but I'm not gonna remember all of which do or don't.

I already tried to google this 20 times and tries all things MVPs from this forums posted me, nothing EVER worked!!! But I Am currently using Sledgehammer and it works nicely! But thanks!

No I don't mean on your PC. I mean on mine. I was just referencing your comment on buggy windows 10. I just mentioned the problem I had twice with no obvious cause and both times after a clean install. It's nothing to do with your issues.

This registry edit has been stopping driver updates for almost a year now.

Wouldn't hurt to add that on top, Sledgehammer doesn't have to work forever. Thanks for suggestion.

It is not serious control, just to disable updates IMHO. I have Pro. Linux: I couldn't even install drivers, solution for my exact version didn't work. Google didn't even find error. And Nvidia support had no idea also LOL why it doesn't work. Also it is not really for gaming and never will probably... Also Linux is even more annoying to troubleshoot and more bugged!

Hmm disabling Edge in Task Scheduler didn't work! I have only 2 entries in Task Scheduler Library of these 4:

And disabling programs by renaming their files isn't ideal! It can produce Event Viewer errors, or maybe it could corrupt system, or cause some problems dunno... Also I Am not sure about denying all access permissions of programs.

On my Windows 10 Home, ever since I have set my ethernet connection to metered, Windows Update hasn't automatically installed even a single update without my consent. Not once.

Windows Update MiniTool (WUMT), WuMgr, and WAU Manager all have serious issues that can mess up the Update History and actually even can't properly detect all available updates that Windows Update can detect. These software utilities very typically cause more troubles than they can help to prevent, and, the assertion that Windows 10 Home doesn't let you be in full control over which updates are automatically getting installed is just that: an assertion.
