Changing from FF beta to "standard" version

    OS version 19042.804

Want to return to standard version (86) from (87.ob1) FF forum says you can do it this way [dated back in 2018]. Does this still apply now?

"You can do this by simply downloading the standard rapid release version and installing it over top of the Firefox Beta version. This will replace the version Beta version with the standard version without erasing your Firefox data."

Backup your profile (Folder and .ini file) to an external drive or USB key and eject it first then try it. Can't say for sure that installing over the top works.

It did not go as easy as I had hoped. D/L latest ver (86 Standard) installer. Once you click on the installer, the installation is under way, no options etc. Next it told me I was reverting back to an earlier version and that I would have to create a new profile, either agree or exit. Once I agreed, it acted like I was setting up a new account. Luck would have it, I was offered to sign into my existing account. I had to have a 2nd device signed in so I could sync. Even thought I had chose to have UN & PW transferred, not all were. i.e. bank accounts/CC accounts did not recognize me and had to authenticate them. Lot of settings had to be reset in the "new" browser. But in the end, everything seems to be back in order.
