I hate to burst your bubbles, but all those right-click mouse functions (and keyboard) you mention have always been in Edge and then some. e.g. Don't know the meaning of a word or a spelling either on a page or in a text box? Double click it to highlight, highlight holding right mouse button and drag, or via caret browsing then simply right click it or use keyboard menu key to ask Cortana. Cortana will appear on the right with info. This feature is ported from the Windows phone.

Want your IE favorites? Press the hamburger Favorites menu (icon) and press import. One can then arrange by dragging and dropping up and down the list just as in IE. It IS as easy to navigate as in the IE favorites menu. There's no difference.

Edge is a Modern WinRT Store app with its own menu bar, so you won't be getting the "File Edit View Favorites Tools Help" menu bar from IE back.

There is a Favorites Bar. Add it in settings, then there's also advanced settings.

There is also Reading and Web Note modes.

    Welcome to the Modern, gentlemen.
Don't worry about bursting any bubbles there Hippie, that statement sounds a little condescending. I guess some feel they are the knower of all things and make sure others are aware of it. I have no illusions about the menu bar being added back, that's far too functional for the modern users who only want to text and do social media, and whatever the heck it is they're doing with their phone as they're walking.

Never have and never will use Cortana, as soon as she worked in the TP's I disabled her with all her spying functions.

Not all things have always been in Edge, heck it wasn't even Edge to begin with, what about when it was Spartan? It was barely usable. Each update things are added to W10 and various other embedded programs. Until a user happens upon what for them was a change most times we don't know what exactly was in a particular update. For whatever reason MS has seen fit not to publish all the additions and/or changes in a given update.

So welcome to Modern yourself, Hippie (that was sort of a snide comment), sometimes change is just change, not necessarily better, just different. Sometimes it's worse depending on what you do with whatever it is that's been changed. Maybe you're tired of reading comments from people about things such as Edge and what some user's feel it lacks, if that's the case don't read the post.

Like many on tenforums you are very knowledgeable about computers and operating systems, tact can be useful too.

    @CmmTch

It's HippsieGypsie to you, Mr. CmmTch. If I desire for you to call me otherwise I'll let you know. You do it again I'll report it. That's not a threat. It's a promise.

If you take any of my comments as "condescending" I feel that's your problem. You spoke your mind openly. I'll speak mine the same.

Perhaps you don't have a decent smart phone to know any better.

Anyone who pays attention to install screens would know there's an option to refuse Cortana upon install. I suggest you save youself some time and effort and push "Not at this time". It won't be installed.

We're not talking about Spartan here. It's Edge. As soon as they released it as such it had all the functions you two mentioned. That's been for at lease 2 or 3 builds.

Thanks anyway, but I've been Modern since I first booted up W8 Preview back in June of 2012 then onto a Lumia Windows phablet January of 2013. Fantastic tech.

You mean change as you see it. If you don't like don't use it. This is a support forum to get help people to at least try it for themselves, not a fud forum.

Yes, I have a thing for people that come on spreading fud. To do so without knowing the product is even worse. I don't need a lesson in tact. I think it's the other way around.

Have a good day and happy computing. :)

You have a good day too HippsieGypsie.
Sorry about misspelling your name, an honest mistake that is all on me I didn't see the "s" in your name and nothing was meant by it.

No need to threaten to report me, as I said it was an honest mistake and nothing was meant by it.

What I wrote was my perception of the response that was addressed to myself and gator2013, obviously that was incorrect.

We do try and help each other here, some know more than others, but we all know something that can help somebody else.

I apologize and hope there are no hard feelings.

Ok. Apology accepted. No hard feelings. Misspelling my name has been done before. It's easy to overlook. Most members here just call me HG. Easier to type and hardly ever an error. :)

I know it's much better to try to understand than to be understood. I really don't consider myself all that important, although I know have my place in life. Being a member of 8F it was very difficult at times to be a part of a support community when a lot of disagreeing people came on just to express their ignorant opinion on the direction MS was taking with the Modern OS. I have no qualms with people that don't like it or even use 3rd party to make it what they want, but yet some install it and then cry bloody murder that it's the worst ever. Really don't get that at all. It went even so far as a 7F member calling me "a self-proclaimed 8 guru". Perhaps I'm being over-protective, but I'll be dammed if it'll happen here. (Misspelled on purpose )

Misinformation is another thing. I'm not going to proclaim I know all the system, but I do try my best to learn aspects of it before commenting. I'm glad you fessed up that that's what happened here. We all make mistakes. We're human. Let's accept it for what it is and move on.

Again, good day to you and happy computing. :)

I have a question about right clicking in Edge. Whenever I right click anywhere other than a link there are only three options: 1) select all 2) inspect element 3) view source When using a mouse I've become very accustomed to using the right click to return to a previous page. I know the keyboard shortcut, just wondering if there's a way to increase the options of a right click in the browser that would include being able to select "back"?

What was MS thinking when they made it so you can't edit the Favorites icons to only the icon without the text in Edge ?, until this and the start menu and apps not working half the time Win 10 is a no go, at least for me

Only 3 options on rightclick is very little. Hopefully more options in the future. Waiting for extensions. When they arrive I might ditch Firefox as my main browser. Untill then I stick with Fx 64 bit beta's.
