Keep Safe Search OFF in IE11 & Chromium Edge Permanently

    Windows 10 V. 20H2 Build 19043.804

I have never been able to find a way to keep "Safe Search" turned off in Bing on Internet Explorer 11 or Chromium Edge.
I have it set to Off in Windows 10 settings but still have to set it to Off every time I want to use my computer. Surely there must be a way considering MS added it to Settings even though it doesn't work. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You need to add bing.com to exceptions, if you remove cookies.

SafeSearch in Windows 10 Settings only controls web previews in search results, not any browser:

In Windows Search, web previews will not automatically load web results if they may contain adult content.SafeSearch settings allows you to change your search filter levels to Strict, Moderate, or Off.

How to Change SafeSearch Filter Setting in Windows 10
So your preference in a browser must be preserved in a cookie as advised by @TairikuOkami.

    Keep Safe Search Off

I have had "Settings > Search > Permissions & History > Safe Search" bulleted to OFF for a long time. Also in the registry location: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchSettings"
    I have the two DWORDS set as follows: "IsDeviceSearchHistoryEnabled REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)" and "SafeSearchMode REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)"
Neither of these keeps Safe Search OFF or allows browsing with Safe Search OFF. I am a 77 year old male who lives alone and, therefore, has no need to restrict search access in any way. Having Safe Search OFF at all times simply makes my searches much easier. As it has always been, MODERATE is the default for both IE & Edge. This requires me to manually change this to Safe Search OFF when I want to browse and then it automatically returns to MODERATE. The same is true with "Search Suggestions". I turn them off at the same time, but they return back to the defaults. It would seem logical if I made selections for Safe Search and search suggestions unchecked, and then selected SAVE & AGREE, it would stay that way until manually changed … NOT SO! Any suggestions to change and keep it that way would certainly be appreciated.
    Thank you.

That only affects searching from the taskbar.

You need to set your browsers (or any cleanup utilities) so that cookies from Bing.com do not get deleted, as that's where your preference is saved.

NMI's Reply To My "Keep Safe Search OFF..." Post

Your reply "That only affects searching from the taskbar." to my post about making the two changes in the registry is incorrect IMHO. One is actually entitled "SafeSearchMode" which could only apply to safe search and not to the "Taskbar". Both my registry changes are still set to "0" and my Taskbar search still works fine as it always has. I have just added Bing as exceptions (whitelist) in both Internet Explorer and Chromium Edge. Safe Search is currently turned "OFF" in both. I am not optimistic this will keep Safe Search permanently off, as well as, Search Suggestions, but it would be great if it does. I still feel Microsoft should allow the owner and user of his personal PC to only have to turn Safe Search and Suggestions OFF one time and save for it to stay that was permanently.

Windows 10 allows us to use any of hundreds of different browsers and search engines as defaults, but Microsoft can't possibly hope to control all of them (and most of us probably wouldn't want them to do so).

Keeping Safe Search & Search Suggestion "OFF" permanently

Allow me to ask this question one last time: Is there any way in IE11 or Edge Chromium to keep SAFE SEARCH and/or
    SEARCH SUGGESTIONS "OFF" permanently?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
Open edge and use about:config as the url
Scroll through the list for safe search.

Turn Safe Search & Search Suggestions Permanently Off In IE11 & Edge

When type "about:config" as a URL in the address bar, it is immediately changed to edge://config or a standard Bing generic search.
The edge://config returns a "page not found". The Bing search is for configuration of all major browsers on the market such as Chrome, Mozilla, etc.
If you search long enough, Edge can eventually be found, but Administrative Templates or Configure Policy Settings, etc. are only available if you have
Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise ... I have Windows 10 Home - No GPE! You can type edge://edge-urls in the address bar and get a listing of hidden Internal
Page URLs, but you can make no changes there and Safe Search and Search Suggestions are not mentioned. There are dozens of options each with its own
name and all beginning with "edge://....... but nothing really helpful. You can also access the "Experiments" area in Edge by typing the following:

    Edge://flags
    Information At:
Access & use Microsoft Edge about flags page on Windows 10 and
    Edge://about flags - Bing

Administrative Templates or Configure Policy Setting are only available through Group Policy Editor which is only available in Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise.
    I have Windows 10 Home.
Only available in Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise

Bottom line is that I still don't have a way to keep "Safe Search" permanently 'OFF', as well as, "Search Suggestions" ... VERY FRUSTRATING!
