I see, you mean poper blocker. I'm not sure if we are allowed to talk about that on this website?

Welcome to the world of the modern internet.
I once raised a discussion with web developers about the trends of things like autoplaying videos, infinite scrolling etc. I was given some responses as if they didnt like I asked the question but also which were honest well thought out replies which I appreciated. The gist of it was, dev's are under pressure to increase eyeballs on the content, if that means shoving videos in your face then thats what they will do. Most user feedback now days is done via a/b testing, which of course can be manipulated to get a result is deemed preferable.
Now on the subject at hand, I do find youtube is very passive compared to some other sites, I use an adblocker, I use an extension that enhances the youtube experience, and I find with these things combined the experience is reasonably pleasant and I dont expereince the same things mentioned here.
On autoplay I find its only really forced on playlists, I set the current video to loop, so at least it loops the same video rather than doing a carousel.
The world wants your attention and money, you sitting in front of your computer screen is the quickest, most efficient way of doing so.
It seems like google has added yet another annoying feature. Whenever you fast-forward a video, a popup dialog with three arrows pops up on the screen.

I just tried the enhancer for youtube. It doesn't seem to solve much of this, besides adding an annoying menu bar to youtube, which seems to come back again, even if you disable it. Is there an addon to disable the message that says you have been signed out of youtube?
