    Hosts: NotePad++ Admin

    We are using NotePad++ for editing the file. Logout to apply changes.

    Code:
    0.0.0.0 www.youtube.com
    0.0.0.0 www.google.com
    0.0.0.0 www.google-analytics.com
    127.0.0.1 gives the same result for youtube, but we use zero. You must open NotePad++ from start in Admin mode. Locate the file, save, wait, close and logout.

    An article was shared to other parents in our school site group, because they found out some of their kids (elementary and middle schoolers) were a little too tech savvy. Their kids were viewing Discord, Reddit, YouTube etc. There is a how-to on editing the Hosts File.

    I heard OpenDNS worked for one parent. His router allowed him to block certain IP address but not Google Classroom and Zoom. As our kids in the district are using.

    Only a matter of time though kids will find a solution to any challenge we give them.

    True, that! For now, I just want to make sure my kid is not watching YouTube during his online classes. I wouldn't mind if only he weren't watching other people play video games, apparently that's what all the kids are watching these days and I find that stupid.

    I did sort out how to block the YouTube on his laptop. I even disabled it on his phone, but then he can always use the browser on the phone using data. Since the phone is not rooted, I need to use adb to edit the hosts file on the phone and I need to find time to set it up.

    Otherwise, thanks for your help, everyone!
