    Tracker blocker. Is there one?

Doesanyone know what happened to the Chrome extension that I believe waseither called Do Not Track, or Do Not Track Me? I used to have itand I think it was shown as a “D” symbol and showed the number oftrackers that were blocked whenever I went to a website. But Irecently noticed that it’s no longer there. So I did a search forit online and I think I found it. I added it onto my Chrome browseragain, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. It’s in my list ofextensions, but it appears to be completely dormant.

Is there a real tracker blocker that is still available for Chrome, orhave they been somehow rendered useless?

Go to Chrome settings. Privacy and Security, cookies and other site data, scroll down a few rows and enable "do not track".

Oh, I know about that setting, but there used to be an extension that was said to do a better job. I used to have it.

Personally I would use the settings toggle vs a 3rd party extension.

Well, I downloaded it to my extensions, but it doesn't seem to actually do anything, just like the other one.

Do Not Track is integrated within all browsers, but it does not really do much. Basically, once you visit a webpage, the browser says: "Please do not track me." It is upon the trackers to decide, they mostly ignore it.

Maybe consider ditching Chrome and using a Chrome variant instead:

How Vivaldi browser is different from Google Chrome

    Tracker blocker. Is there one?-vivaldi.jpg

Or get these Chrome addons. (I use them both in Vivaldi and Firefox)

Malwarebytes Browser Guard - Chrome Web Store

Trace - Online Tracking Protection - Chrome Web Store

Note: I use Trace Premium but the free version is okay. Be warned that it takes a fair amout of configuration.
