Win 10 Mail Issues

Tried to do this once before but had a similar time during the process. New install of Win 10 on a New SSD drive (good time for a complete refresh. Also added more memory to this aging laptop.
Win 10 is up to date and I have a fully operational Win 10 Desktop to refer to.
Issue 1: Setup for MAIL ran fine to a point; setup my gmail account including contacts and folders. Trouble with folders is that they only open up for viewing using the "more" button. I want all these folders to show up on the left panel an opening the program. Have to add another account but will wait until I figure this out. With help.

Issue 2; I have incoming mail showing up in my Outlook 2019 inbox on Desktop PC but not in Mail on laptop; nothing coming in. All the settings are still set to original install; I have not been messing with what I don't know about.

Originally was happily motoring along with Windows Live Mail ( did it all for me ); tried others like Mozilla and Mailbird but wasn't happy.

Help please!!

Issue 1:
Display the folders (All Folders), > Right click folder > Add to Favourites(star) the ones you want to display bottom left under Folders.

Issue 2:
Right Click Account > Account settings > Options for syncing your content.
These are mine for Gmail:
as items arrive, every 15 mins, any time.
> Done.
I forget what the defaults were, but you can set things such that nothing shows up, depending on your Mail situation like frequency etc.

In Windows 10 settings > Privacy > Background Apps > Let Apps run in the background > On > Mail and Calendar, People > On.

2 of my 6 Email accounts never worked with WLM so it was not great for me, all 6 accounts work with the Win 10 Mail App, indeed for over 5 years.

OK: issue #1 I sort of got it; what has always been strange is that the contact list and folders do not match what I have in Outlook. For example, I have an Amazon folder and an Amazon 2021 folder. I did not recreate these folders in Gmail web-page. I think that there are a lot of contact lists floating around in previous Microsoft accounts under different addresses.
Mail is still not going out of this laptop, but it is using Mailbird which I am dumping. Odd that MAIL did not ask me to log into my Google or Microsoft account. Something missing here,

Figured it out; my fault ( imagine that ); When I ran the MAIL setup I added my address where asked and a nice new account was set up for me; only this was that is was not connected to google at all. So, I went in and ran a new account, chose google, entered email and password, chose GOOGLE from options and there is was. All my folders and all those for my second account after I added it. I was let down the garden path. Still have the problem where MAIL is showing 5 emails in while outlook is showing 8, mostly already viewed. So I will see what is happening over the next day or so; they should have the same # of posts.

I don't know why you had issues with WLM and multiple accounts; worked flawlessly for until support stopped and thisng started to go wrong.

I have a neighbor still using (happily ) WLM on his win 10 pc.
