Find it very difficult to use my hotmail account

Sorry for this problem and time taken by forum.

I am 89 and in a care home. Find it very difficult to use my hotmail account which I have completely messed up.
Cannot get head around changing password etc. Using the various "helps" is proving too difficult.

Can I someone from Microsoft possibly go through procedure please.

    Thanks and keep well all,

    Sellick

This forum is independent and not a part of Microsoft, but I'm sure there are members here who can walk you through the steps needed.

I got a Hotmail account years ago, probably late '90s. It creates a Microsoft Account and any password change would need going through them.

There was/is a newer version named Outlook.com and both Hotmail and Outlook.com are being/have been merged into Outlook – free personal email and calendar from Microsoft (live.com) . If your login doesn't work there will be a link under the Password box to change it such as for Forgotten password.

Outlook.com is different from the installed Office/Outlook E-Mail client, I got Outlook.com when it came about as at the time it was supposed to replace Hotmail seems it took longer than expected.

BTW, I'll be 81 on Monday.

I have a hotmail acct for many years and it was auto transferred to outlook, nothing required on my part. Or at least that is what I understood. Nevertheless, it continues to work without error.

Please describe your problems. If it is just to change a password, see below. If you don't have password, click "forgot password" on the log in screen and reset. Also, perhaps someone on the staff at the care home can assist.

    Removing accounts

Thank you for advice. I think the best way for me to proceed is to close my accounts.
I appreciate fact that you are all independent.

I don't wish to be impertinent but I think you are incorrect; that's not the best way for you to proceed.

I suggest that you try to resolve the matter using the guidance in

and, if you have any problem doing so, post back here to explain the problem [and include para numbers to help people follow where you have got to].

    Best of luck,
