    Mail in win 10 vanishes but there in Vista


    Overnight the lot went ,thats twice this has happened Yet i have VISTA on dual boot and it is all there any help please thanks

    Hi, I think you would need to say a lot more about how you are handling your mail and in what sense it vanishes. Your post begs more questions than it provides information.

    I'll start with the first obvious point.

    1. Are you using web mail?
    If you aren't using web mail, which email client are you using?

    2. What is the relationship between Vista and '10 here?

    3. Sadly like so many you missed the forum prompt:

    4. Describe the manner in which mail goes missing,
    For example, do you mean all stored mail held on disk?
    Or something else?

    version 1903 os build18362.959
    i am using mail that comes with win 10 but my webmail through internet provider has also gone
    With Vista is the old outlook mail and that is fine

    When you receive mail from the server using pop3 or imap using your email client, this can be configured to either delete or leave mail on the server.

    If, for example, Oulook has received the mail and deleted it from the server, that would explain what you are seeing.

    ok so why would mails from the same server be ok and not delete on vista i cant understand that

    I don't follow. I understood you to be saying the only copy you have is locally using Outlook.
