    managed by your organization

I tried to change some settings in my browser: Microsoft Edge Version 87.0.664.47
but I get a message: Your browser is managed by your organization
I don't understand as I am not managed by an external administrator on work...; I installed my computer from scratch and are administrator of my computer.
I run a standalone Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630)
    Can I change this?

Hi, were you to research the message generally or on tenforums you would find the message only makes complete sense where Windows is managed in an organisation by group policy settings.

Since Home and Pro include the registry, and group policy changes make registry changes, if you or any tweak tool make such a change to the registry you will see that message in the appropriate place.

I understand what you are saying but apparently I can't get rid of the message:
Your browser is managed by your organization
Can anyone help me with this please?

    Thank you for your reply.

    In general:
What tweaks have you applied? Either using a tweak tool or reg files or registry edits, for example?

On occasion, MS has released a build or update, and this message has been present and it's been a matter of patience.

As you have Home, you could try downloading Policy Plus (free) - looks like the group policy editor- and see if that shows any configured policies.

    More specifically:

thank you very much for your answer.
I certainly will check Policy Plus and the sites you advised.
I looked into the registry in order to change some settings for Microsoft Edge: found a lot but none with connection to managing Edge by organization.
I CAN change some security settings but only for the current session: restart of Edge and all my settings are lost. (this is what management by organization means of course)

found a lot but none with connection to managing Edge by organization.
    - none are listed in that manner in the registry for anything.

The link to that message is simply that a key can be changed by Group Policy and is accessible by that means. There is nothing intrinsic or visible about the keys themselves that would tell you by inspection alone that the key can be changed by setting a Group Policy.

Open a new tab in Edge and enter the following in the address bar -

    edge://policy

If there are entries, click on the Export to JSON button, and select your Desktop for the location.

Post the policies.json file (text file) as an attachment.
