Turn off weather in new tab page in edge.

    Hi there

I've noticed of late that when you have a new tab page in edge, it now puts your local weather in the top left. Is there any way to stop this ?

I've really tried to like Edge, but I'm getting rather tired of Microsoft putting things there for 'my convenience' when all I really want is a blank tab.

I noticed one can put about:blank in the URL/Address box and get a blank page. Should be able to find a setting to set it as a Tab or Favorite and probably as the Home page.

    Hi, zooburner,

Yes, if you look at the new tab page, there is a gear icon on the right-hand corner of the new tab page, click on that then

    1. Click Custom
    2. Turn off Show Greetings

This will turn off your local weather. If you also want a blank tab: in custom choose Off in Background.

Hi there, thanks for your response, for some reason that does not appear as an option for me.

    Hello @zooburner,

If you mean the Weather information card for Bing on the New Tab page, then you can do this below to turn it off and remove it.

Ah, ok. Yep, that would normally be from Show greeting.

except of course I have no 'show greeting' switch option !!

No idea why that is, but there will be a reason of course, maybe i have to have something else turned on for it to be an option, who knows..

Like zooburner, I have no 'Show greeting' option - probably because I do not sign in to Edge.

I just tested on my system, and I don't have the "Show greeting" setting either while not signed in to Edge.
