Truly blank new tab page in Edge

Ive tried getting a truly blank page in edge when opening a new tab, the closest i can get is a page with a Bing search box in the middle.

Is there a way to fer a truly 'blank' page like in firefox ?

Type about:blank into the address bar, bookmark it then middle click it to open in a new tab.

Thanks for your reply Edwin, I am aware I can use 'about:blank' as a bookmark, I was thinking more of when I press the 'new tab' page cross, or when I have my startup set to 'new tab'

Can't do it that way, that's why I suggested a bookmark.

Thanks for your persistence in trying to help Edwin, my question was specifically about 'New Tab' pages, I already have my startup set to google. (though i know i could set it to about:blank)

It seems that without some kind of registry hack it's likely not possible to get what i want, I might search a few add-ons, see if there is anything out there.

    Hi,

I managed to find an extension on the chrome store. It's called 'Empty New Tab Page' it's also useful in that you don't have to worry about even configuring edge. Shame we have to resort to an extension though.

I use 'new tab redirect' from the chrome web store. You can set the new tab to be any page or url including about:blank.

My new tabs are same as home page - duckduck.

Thanks the both of you, I will look into both those options.

Microsoft has really built a great browser, then (in my opinion) they kind of taint it by taking away choices like this.

    Thanks for your help :)

Yes! But no! I have the same problem and I have found the link below but it doesn't work too! (I have set my start page to "about:blank" and can't get rid of extra Microsoft stuff on NTP! I don't want to use extra extension too. (The link is safe and It works on Win 10 Pro and Enterprise version)

Configure the new tab page URL (admx.help)
