Spell Checker for Outlook.Live Web Email not working.

Although incorrect spelling of words do show as you type them, the ability to left click them and correct them has gone. When I do left click a word then all that happens is that all words with errors lose their red highlighting.

Not sure when this started if I'm honest. Spell checking on sites such as this is still working fine. It just seems to be on Outlook.Live where there is a problem.

Using Edge browser and the now on latest public W10 release. Edge settings themselves are unchanged and Spell Check is enabled there.

Images show that words are recognised as incorrect and second image shows what happens when just one word is clicked.

In Outlook Live click on the settings wheel then 'View all Outlook settings' , on the left click on 'Compose and reply' and scroll down to Microsoft editor settings. Should get to opening the editor window and check your settings.

If settings ok then right click the misspelt word.

Thanks, must admit I hadn't discovered those but they do seem to be set the same as you show. I just tried the 'reset to defaults' on that page but nothing changed.

Edit... and right clicking the misspelt word just brings the fly out menu up.

That's odd. These are my settings on a right click,

can't think of any other settings unless you have an add-on that might affect it.

    I see the same.

And if you left click a word are you getting the correct and alternate options to replace it with?

This is a bit odd then...

OK, I'm going to disappear for a while and just try a few things. I wonder if this occurred when there was last a cumulative update. Looking at my history that was the 14th October. I might just restore back to then, go offline (so no updates) and see if if it works.

I remember manually running that 'Enablement' update to unlock the latest W10 features but will have to just look back.

I'd be tempted to try another browser first just to see if Edge is the issue.

Good idea. I'm was just looking what backups I had and when I did that update.

    Two minutes...
