STRANGE, BUT SERIOUS PROBLEM: Can Chrome "Leak Out" Passwords?

    Hi all,

I'm in need of some desperate help.

    This is just what happened:
I was using Chrome and I had a Chrome window open and I was logged into my bank's website with about 15 tabs open that contain financial information. Then, I accidentally opened another tab in the same Chrome window (so I had 16 tabs open) to an unrelated online computer store.

My worry is that my bank account username and password was leaked to the computer store as I used the same window to view the computer store's website. I always open new and separate Chrome windows(and not tabs) when I visit sites that are unrelated to my bank's website.

Thank you so much for any help!

Don't know, but would immediately change username and password.

Personal opinion, but I prefer to use Edge or FF for financial matters.

I don't think you have anything to be concerned about.

No worries. Each tab is its own process. You can have 15 tabs open each with a different user name and password. Each of the 15 tabs cannot see each other. As far as each tab goes, it doesn't even know there are other tabs open besides it.

Very true. Extensions can be the downfall to security. If you have a bad extension installed then it doesn't even matter if you only have one tab open. The bad guys will always try to find a way to get your info.
