Customise Edge

In Chromium Edge, when I enter something in the search box, then press enter, it opens in the current tab. Is there a way to make it open in a new tab?

You can't, but what can is adjust search engine to open links in new tab when clicking on them.

bing search engine supports that feature. I thing google does too.

Thank you for reply. There is an add on that opens links in new tab automatically, but not from the search box, that still opens in existing tab, unless opened with mouse wheel.
