Cannot download file in Firefox on some web pages, Chrome fine

When I click the below link in Chrome it downloads the file or asks me where I want to save it, BUT in Firefox it just refreshes the page... This occurs on 2 machines I have, HP Win 8.1 and new Lenovo Win 10 Home edition with all updates. So Chrome will download like normal, Firefox, must right click and open new tab to get the file.
Note this does not happen in all sites with downloads. Perhaps it is the way the HTML or code was written... Do not know.
Example safe link: Lenovo Vantage install/update failure in Microsoft Store-English Community
Then click on file listed in step 1. No need to actually download it.....

If you click on the above there is a zip file (Discovery_4.27.32.0.zip) in the forum which like I said in Firefox version 80 on Win 8.1 and on Win 10 (different laptops) will just refresh the page and not download UNLESS I right click on zip file to open in a new tab. I also tried this with Firefox in safe boot with no addons. No difference.

Firefox download works fine in these as an example--note I did not actually download anything, just a test:
    Download COVID-19 Monitor - MajorGeeks
YTD Video Downloader - Free video downloader and converter
Create one-click, direct download links | NateChamberlain.com (Clicked on download the latest newsletter)
    and
Thoughts? Thank you very much Peter

I'm using the latest Firefox (80.0.1), and I can download it.
But I have my FF set to always open clicked links in a new tab.

Interesting... Oh well. I will not worry about it.
I even reset Firefox to defaults.
    Thank you very much

Defaults will keep the problem...set it like this...
Iirc, the third box is UN-checked, when FF is set to defaults.

Yeah, I know my FF doesn't look like yours. I spent a LOT of time getting it to look like the old days.

Ok, I did a restore to defaults which I did not do before and it worked. I then added back Adblocker and it is working to download the file on same page.
Will mess around with another add on I had which was NoSquint.
I did have your Tabs set like mine.

    Thanks so much.

Now must fix on Win 10 new laptop.

Perhaps it is add in OR becuase I synced the browsers....

    Interesting

    Thanks again

I should have mentioned that as well.
I have NO extensions at all. I only have the two plugins that are built in to Firefox.

    Glad you got it working.

/edit Btw, you don't need NoSquint. Firefox has a built in zoom function that remembers which sites it's set for and which it isn't. You'll find it in the "Customize" section... it looks like a minuse sign and then a space, then a plus sign.

You just drag it from the "customize" area to the tool bar area. In the tool bar area, it gains the zoom percentage in between the minus and plus signs.
