    Gmail question

Sorry if this isn't Windows 10 specific, but I can't find any other source on the internet to answer my question. When looking at the settings in Gmail there are two columns of action on the various things that can be changed. The are labeled "show" and "hide". The "show" is always on the left column and "hide" is on the right column. One is blue and a clickable link, the other is black and not an active link. If I click a blue link it become black and the one that was black becomes blue and clickable.

I can't for the life of me figure out which one is actually selected. The one that is black or the one that is blue. It just doesn't seem logical to me somehow. The one that is blue looks like it would be the current setting, but when clicked it turns black and the other one turns blue. I hope someone can clear this up for me. Thanks.

It's the black one that's active. Clicking the blue will activate whatever is selected.

Thanks, Fabler2. I keep trying to stop Gmail from sending copies of all my emails to their "important" folder, but every time I make a chance in settings it doesn't seem to change how Gmail works. I've changed the LABEL settings, the IN BOX settings, but they keep on sending duplicates of all my emails to the "Important" folder.

At least now I can be sure just what the active settings are. It's a system folder with Gmail. If I could I would delete the important folder but it won't let me. I use Outlook in Office 365.

My Gmail settings show I get emails in POP and that IMAP is inactive. I might try to change that, but I want copies of the emails on my computer and I think IMAP lets everything stay stored on the server, not on my computer. Never quite understood how that works. I'm definitely tired of having to review all the emails in the "Important" folder that I've already read in other folders.
