Is Email Phishing and issue only on local email?

    Hiya,

I have Gmail. For some strange reason I use both local Gmail (via the Windows 10 mail app) but more often use the online version of Gmail, which I've dropped into my taskbar.

So when it comes to phishing emails -- are online accounts as vulnerable as local? It just occurred to me that maybe online is safer?

They are both the same Gmail Account. It won't make any difference if you use a Mail client like the Windows 10 Mail App or the Webmail method to view the Emails.

This is correct. The means as to what program you use to open and read emails do not matter. If an email is a phishing email, it will do the same damage if it was opened from the web, Mail app, or a program like Thunderbird.

    Thank you both. Just double-checking.
