    Problem with Importing Favorites

Against my whishes a new version of Chrome Edge was installed on my laptop #1. I just tried to import Favorites from laptop #2, using an exported HTML file. I go through the procedure and it reports that the import has completed, BUT, the favorites on laptop #1 have not changed. Any advice?

Is the laptop #2 also using the new Chromium Edge or the OLD Edge? If they are both the new Chromium Edge try this:
Hekasoft Backup & Restore 0.93 | Free Browser Backup Software Works very well. Just choose the correct browser from the drop down and backup on one system and restore to the other, it's portable!

Thanks for your reply. No, laptop #2 is "Legacy" Edge.

Oh that may be the problem then. Try the free tool I told you about, and have it on a thumb drive and backup the old one onto the thumb drive and then restore it on the new laptop.

Hekasoft goes through the procedure and reports that the restore was complete. BUT, the Favorites are not changed. I have gone through the backup and restore from a USB stick twice. Favorites never change. This is exactly what happens when I try to import an HTML file created on "Legacy Edge". It reports that the import has completed, but the Favorites are not changed.

Hmmm found this, try and see if it works! Looks like they implemented recently on the dev release but not sure if working on stable version yet.

I can get to the last step in the procedure with my current Edge Chromium. Click on the star to bring up the Favorites, click on Manage Favorites, on the upper right next to "Add Folder" click the three dots, click import favorites. Now, the Import From Window has Microsoft Edge Legacy but I can scroll down and select Favorites or bookmarks from HTML file. I have done that twice and the Favorites don't change. Importing from Edge Legacy is a silly option, because I don't think Edge Legacy and Edge Chromium can exist on the same PC.

I had the legacy edge and dev and stable all installed.. and finally uninstalled the legacy and dev version. I had no problems having both installed on same pc.

Tell me how you did it. I have installed Chromium and it appears to delete Legacy.

OK, I have Edge Legacy and Edge Chromium both installed on my PC. But, the Favorites continue to be a problem. When I import Favorites from Legacy to Chromium, they end up different on Chromium. It is as if somehow, Chromium is getting data from some older files. And the same thing happens if I use a current HTML file from Legacy. The Favorites that end up on Chromium are not the same as in the HTML file. Has to be a bug in Chromium. I will keep using Legacy until Chromium is ready for prime time.
