    Stop Chrome from automatically restoring

I've got the latest Chrome paired with the most up to date Win10 and have a 3 monitor setup with up to 10 virtual desktops. If I reboot without shutting every instance of Chrome down cleanly. Then when the PC comes back up my first virtual desktop is littered with previous Chrome instances and no it doesn't always give you the choice either.

So my question is how do I stop Chrome from doing this as it's very annoying?

    Hi, consider
Turn On or Off Automatically Restart Apps after Sign In in Windows 10

from the extensive list of tutorials.

Think you've misunderstood. When I open an instance of Chrome right after a reboot, it remembers all the previous instances I'd had open and opens them if they had not been closed cleanly. How do I stop Chrome from doing this?

This is nothing to do with what apps are opening automatically post boot.

He was asking about chrome restoring all opened tabs, not windows restoring chrome and other apps. @Gusgf try this one:

Excellent suggestion but when I went into settings this was already disabled!

Most of the time I'm prompted if I want to continue the Chrome sessions that previously crashed but sometimes not

A few people have suggested on the Google product forums (lengthy existing thread) that un-setting this worked for them... Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed not sure where the connection is there but I'm going to give it a go.
